Migrant caravan member shared Biden’s promise to cancel deportations for 100 days as reason for traveling to US
migrants moving with a caravan that left Honduras on Friday told a reporter he was walking towards U.S. because newly elected President Joe Biden is “generous enough that he is giving us 100 days to urge to the U.S.”

The migrant’s interview shared, didn’t reveal his name however he said that he is from Roatán, which is a tourist island located off the northern coast of Honduras.
He seemed to be citing Biden’s pledge to put a 100-day moratorium on deportations – one among several items on his agenda which will reverse a number of President Donald Trump’s signature policies.
Biden’s promise to cancel deportations may be behind migrants, The migrant told a reporter he was going through a “bad situation” that has made worsen by the coronavirus pandemic, hurricanes, and a president who isn’t helping the people.
When asked what he wanted, the migrant said our efforts are to be in U.S. because they’re having a new president elected.”
“He’s gonna help everybody,” the migrant told that new President-elect Joe Biden is giving us 100 days to urge to the U.S.” for a status and “get a far better life for our young generation and family.”
Biden has promised a pathway to legal residency that will be permanent for those within the country illegally and a suspension on deportations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
